Mahogany box with black walnut detail

Woodworking ProjectI built this box in Spring 2005 under the skilled direction of my father in his workshop in Seaside, California. It is mahogany with a simple black walnut detail laminated into the box top. Drawing on my dad's 40 years of experience as a woodworker I was able to create an intricate piece quickly and without mishaps.

Moss agate and jade pendant in silver

Jewelry ProjectOnce again under the direction of my father, I made this pendant at his jewelry bench in January 2006. The large stone is an agate with some very intricate inclusions and the small stone is jade. Both are set in fine silver with open backs so light is transmitted through the stones. Looking into the agate, I see steep mountains reflected in a pool surrounded by mossy trees.
